Hello
Hi, it’s me [Ali]
Hi there.
Hey I’m starting to send people home; they have closed the village due to flooding.
Really, it’s flooding down there?
Yeah, Delaware St, North, Townsend … We are trying to move equipment in case the water comes into the clinic.
Do you need any help?
If you have time, yeah I could use some help; it’s just me and the building owner.
I’ll be down in a bit.
About 20 minutes later I start walking to the clinic. On my way I see a USGS truck driving around. I have to pick my way around; all the streets on that end of the village are flooded.
What should we do with the Pathfinder; we can’t get it home at this point?
We could park it over at the hospital.
Okay, I’ll go move it and walk back over here.

The flood
Just a quick note to say I’ve got the pictures posted from the flood that devasted Walton over the past couple of days. I plan to write more when I get a chance to digest everything that has happened.

**Update**
The The Daily Star has made available a photo album of pictures taken by people in several counties around our area. You can view it here. I also posted an additional album of select Walton photos from this site (plus some of I-88).
San Francisco
Ali and I went to San Francisco back in the middle of March. I have been slow to get the pictures posted because I wasn’t sure if I was going to write anything up to go with them. Jeromy commented that people don’t make eye contact. I said, “It’s something I’ve noticed too.” “Well, people like to keep to themselves,” commented Ali, “it’s rare for someone to meet your gaze. I don’t think people are being unfriendly; it’s more of a protection mechanism.”
We didn’t have an agenda for this trip; we just thought it would be fun to walk around. Ali said, “What do you guys think about heading over to Rockefeller Center? I thought it might be fun to ice skate. And we could always … Read More »

My brother finally came to visit late last month. It was a quick trip; he got in late Wednesday night and left Sunday afternoon. Thursday we just hung out around the house, and did some chores, like stacking firewood.
Friday was Ali’s birthday; Ali and I took the day off and we all went to The City. We went to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center (it was our first time doing this). There is an amazing view of Manhattan, but in particular of Central Park. I want to go back in the summer and fall with a good camera to try to get some good shots of the park.
Saturday we went skiing at Belleayre Mountain which is about 5 minutes from Ali’s Mom & Dad’s house.
Sunday we went over to the PT clinic … Read More »
